Crossing Worlds: Experience of Home and Hospital School
Tatyana and Ciera share their personal experiences of navigating education as hospital school students. As a burn survivor and someone living with cystic fibrosis, they reflect on primary school, secondary school, sixth form, college, and university, and the support they received and the challenges they faced. They discuss the emotional and academic impact of long-term illness, the importance of understanding, flexibility, and belief from teachers, and what mainstream schools can do better to support students with physical and mental health needs.
